Iran Finds Gas in Caspian
Iran's first offshore exploration well in the Caspian, which it is drillingin cooperation with the Soviet Union and which was spudded on 14 September 80kms. north of Bandar Azali (MEES, 2 October), has struck gas. According to abroadcast by Tehran radio on 29 November, methane was found in an intervalextending from 470 to 1,062 meters.
