Iraq Inaugurates $240mn Irrigation and Power Project
Iraq inaugurated late last month the new Hindiya irrigation barrage on theEuphrates river some 80 kms. south of Baghdad. The $240mn project, which wasconstructed by China's State Construction Engineering Corporation, alsoincludes a 60-megawatt hydroelectric power station.
