Russia Completes Gas Pipeline To Supply South Ossetia Independently From Georgia
In a televised meeting between Russias Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and South Ossetia President Eduard Kokoity on 26 August, Mr Putin announced the start of gas supplies to the breakaway Georgian enclave through a 169km pipeline connecting Dzaurikau in the Russian republic of North Ossetia to South Ossetias capital, Tskhinvali.
