US House of Representatives Orders US Oil Companies to Leave Libya
In a symbolic gesture the US House of Representatives, by a voice vote, ordered on 9 June the five US oil companies operating in Libya to leave by 30 June. The bill now passes to the Senate for consideration. The Treasury Department already revoked on 29 May the special license granted last February to Occidental, Conoco, Marathon, Amerada Hess and W.R. Grace, which exempted them from the January Executive Order...
