Iraq Appoints New Central Bank Governor
A presidential decree issued on 11 October in Baghdad appoints Mr. Hikmat Ibrahim, former Minister of Foreign Trade during the mid-seventies, as Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq. He replaces Mr. Hassan al-Najafi. A second decree issued on the same date also appoints Mr. Hikmat Omar al-Hadithi as Chairman of the Audit Bureau. He was previously an advisor at the Office of the President.
