Tunisian Section of Transited Passes to Government 

Ownership of the 370-km. section of the Transmed gas pipeline on Tunisian soil has passed from the ENI subsidiary Snam to the Tunisian Government, in accordance with the agreement signed by the two sides in 1977. Snam retains the exclusive right to use the Transmed line - which stretches 1,070 kms. and will have an ultimate capacity of 12.5bn cu. ms. annually - for its purchases of Algerian gas.
