Iran Countertrades with Voest-Alpine
Interhandel of Austria - the trading subsidiary of the Voest-Alpine group - has signed a $1bn counter-trade deal with Iran for 1985-86. The agreement, signed in late April, provides for the exchange of Iranian crude worth $1bn for raw materials and manufactured goods from a number of European countries. According to Voest-Alpine a further $1bn deal involving the exchange of Iranian crude for food is under negotiation.
