Qatar Banks See 2002 Profits Jump To Another Record High
Qatars banks saw profits jump by 33% in 2002 to $295.5mn, eclipsing the record high set in 2001. Profits climbed across the board with Doha Bank seeing a staggering 71% increase, Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) posting gains of over 50% and the previously troubled Al-Ahli moving back into profitability as it continued to recover from 2000s losses (it broke even in 2001).
