US HouseOf Representatives Approves Energy Bill
The US House of Representativesapproved an energy bill on 2 August that will allow oil exploration in theArctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in Alaska and provides some $33bn in taxsubsidies to energy companies over the next decade. The bill also providesfunding for clean-coal technology, renewable fuels and conservation measures.
