Iraq Drops Surcharge Demand In New Price Agreement
UN overseers on 7 December accepted proposals presented by Iraqs State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) for December oil prices, thus clearing the way for the resumption of Iraqi oil exports once Baghdad approves the 9th oil-for-food program. Iraq also dropped its demand for a 50cents/B surcharge (to be paid into a non-escrow account) on exports of crude under the oil-for-food program (MEES, 4 December)....
