Oman Completes Feasibility Study For Aluminum Smelter
A feasibility study for the construction of an aluminum smelter with a capacity of480,000 tons/year at Sohar in northern Oman at a cost of an estimated $2.4bn has now beencompleted. Work on the new plant is expected to begin in the first quarter of 1999, withcompletion scheduled for March 2001.
