Qatar Telecom Signs $6.5Mn TV System Contract With GEC Marconi
Qatar Telecom announced on 29 April that it has signed a $6.5mn contract with UK's GECMarconi for the supply and installation of a new Microwave Distribution System. Marconiwill supply the system to Qatar Cable Vision, Qatar Telecoms' national TV provider, whichwill begin service in Doha in 24 weeks time and in the rest of the country by the firstquarter of 1999.
