Some Gulf States Restrict BlackBerry Services
Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia moved in early August to restrict BlackBerry services, citing security surveillance needs and denying access to sites that conflict with their cultural values. The moves triggered headlines worldwide, damaging the Gulf states reputation for being business friendly Doha and Bahrain were quick to announce that they had no plans to block any BlackBerry services.
