Cost Of Jordan's Fuel Imports In 1996 Rises To $486Mn

In a lecture delivered in 'Amman in mid-February, the JordanianMinister Of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Hashim al-Dabbas, disclosed that the cost ofJordan's fuel imports in 1996, comprising crude oil and products, rose to JD340mn ($486mn)representing 7.5% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), 31% of the total value ofexports and about 13% of the value of imports.
