New Cement Plant In Qatar
Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC) has begun the construction of a new plant, estimated to cost QR432mn ($118.7mn), and scheduled for completion by 1997. QNCC is owned 43% by the Qatari Government and 57% by private shareholders and currently operates a plant at Umm Bab for the production of 330,000 tons/year of Portland cement.
