Egypt To Repay $149Mn To Iran
The Egyptian Central Bank is to pay Iran $149mn in machinery and equipment inrespect of loans contracted before the Iranian revolution in 1979. Therepayments are believed to be less than the full amount owed to Iran. Egypt andIran broke off diplomatic relations in 1979 and have not restored them.
