North Yemen Gets Chinese, Japanese Aid
China has agreed to lend $40.32mn on a long-term and interest-free basis toNorth Yemen to finance the construction of a 127-km. road from Highana toMarib. North Yemen is also to receive a grant worth $3.2mn from Japan to financeagricultural development projects in the Tihama and northern areas of thecountry.
