KFAED Lends to Syria and Bahrain
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has agreed to lendSyria KD2.35mn ($8.5mn) to part-finance the expansion of the Mabradeh powerstation near Homs. An earlier loan of KD7mn was extended to the same projectin 1985. KFAED has also provided Bahrain with a KD5.5mn ($20mn) loan for roadprojects. The loan is repayable over 20 years and carries an annual interestrate of 6%.
