Japan Lends Jordan $56mn for Irrigation Project
Japan has agreed to lend Jordan Yen 13.9bn ($56mn) to part-finance the development of the second stage of Wadi Mujib and the southern Ghor irrigation project, according to an agreement signed in Amman on on October (MEES, 25 June). The loan is for 25 years, including a grace period of seven years, and carries an annual interest rate of 4.75%. Japanese soft loans to Jordan now total $188mn.
