Japan Grants $16mn to Sudan
Japan has agreed to grant Sudan 3.76bn Yen ($15.5mn) under three agreements signed in early October. The funds will finance purchases of American wheat, the expansion of domestic fertilizer production, and assistance to the country's rural broadcasting network. Japanese aid to Sudan in FY 1983 (April 1983-March 1984) totaled $24mn.
