Libyan Government Slashes CustomsDuties By Half To Offset Devaluation
The Libyan Government said on 14January that it had cut customs duties in half for many imported consumer goodsto offset the recent 50% devaluation of the dinar. The cuts in the customsduties on sugar, wheat, clothes, appliances, vehicle spare parts and officefurniture are intended to control inflation and prevent the price of goods jumpingon the domestic market, according to the government....
