Shahristani Takes On Electricity Portfolio
Iraqi Minister of Oil Husain al-Shahristani on 22 June took temporary charge of the electricity portfolio, following the resignation of Karim Wahid the previous day. Mr Wahid stepped down as electricity minister in the face of increasingly violent protests over widespread blackouts, which saw two demonstrators shot dead in Basra. Dr Shahristani doesnt want the job. It is politically dangerous....
