25% Hike in Price of Premium Gasoline
Egypt is raising the price of premium gasoline by 25% from 1 April, a spokesman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) said in Cairo on 27 March. The price will rise from 16 piasters to 20 piasters/liter (about 77 1/2 cents to 97 cents/US gallon, at the commercial rate of £E1.00 = $1.28). The price of ordinary gasoline remains un- changed at 15 piasters/liter (73 cents/US gallon).
