Egypt Establishes New Upstream Oil Company
Egypt has established a new public shareholding upstream company, Al-Tharwa Petroleum, owned by EGPC, EGAS, South Valley Petroleum, National Investment Bank and other government ministries. The company, with a declared capital of $800mn and a paid-up capital of $400mn, will carry out exploration and production activities in and outside Egypt as well as provide support services for the upstream industry.
