Egyptian Trade Deficit Widens
Further questions are likely to be asked as to the strength of the Egyptianpound after it was revealed that Egypt's reported trade deficit deterioratedsharply last year. The deficit rose from Eœ16.955bn ($4.99bn) in 1993 toEœ20.536bn ($6.04bn), a rise of 21%.
