Iran Begins to Pay off Foreign Debt
Iran's external debt stood at $30bn at the end of the last Iranian year, butthe government hopes to have repaid $5bn of this by the end of the present yearon 20 March, according to the country's Finance Minister, Mr. Mohsen Nourbakhsh.(Iranian years begin on 21 March.)
