Syrian Budget Up 25.5% in 1991
The Syrian budget for 1991, which was approved by the People's Assembly(parliament) on 13 November and published in the Official Gazette on 20November, incorporates a 25.5% increase in spending to SL84.7bn ($4.0bn),compared to an increase of 18.4% in 1990. The National Defense is allocatedSL27.5bn (up 16.5% on 1990), or 32.5%, of the total budget, compared to 34.9%in 1990....
