Kuwait to Pay $800mn in Compensation to Egyptian Workers
Kuwait will pay 69,000 Egyptians a total of $800mn to compensate them for bank deposits lost when they fled Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion, according to Egypt's Minister for Manpower, Mr. 'Isam Salih. The minister told a local weekly magazine that the money would be paid once reconstruction work begins in Kuwait. About 20,000 other Egyptian workers remained in Kuwait...
