Japanese Imports of Saudi Crude Fall 41% in 1985
Recently published statistics reveal that total Japanese crude oil imports from the Middle East fell by 7.1% in 1985 to 2,405,800 b/d, as compared to 2,588,300 b/d in 1984. At the same time a considerable change in the pattern of suppliers occurred, with Saudi crude exports to Japan falling by 40.7% to 593,700 b/d in 1985 and Kuwaiti exports by 45.5% to 44,400 b/d.
