US Extends $12mn Agricultural Credit Facility to Iraq
The US has extended a $12mn credit to Iraq to purchase agricultural products, according to an agreement signed on 15 January. In November 1983 the US Department of Agriculture extended credit facilities totaling $345mn to Iraq to finance the purchase of rice, wheat and other basic agricultural commodities (MEES, 21 November 1983).
