Inauguration of $1.5bn Water Project
On 31 July a $1.5bn potable water scheme for Baghdad, built by Continental Constructions Private Ltd. of India, was inaugurated. The project will supply water from the Tigris through a network of 800 kms. of pipeline to East Baghdad and parts of the western suburbs. India's Som Datt Builders (SDB) has also received a letter of intent for potable water projects in Hilla and Mosul.
