Middle East Producers Retain Share in Declining Japanese Market
Although Japan's imports of crude oil from the Middle East fell by 10.9Zbetween 1984 and 1986 - reflecting a 9.3% drop in total crude imports over thesame period - the market share of the Middle East producers remained more orless unchanged, declining from 70.2% of crude imports in 1984 to 68.9% in 1986,according to the latest statistics from the Petroleum Association of Japan (PAJ).
