Soviet Oil Minister Lowers 1991 Output Estimate
The Soviet Union's acting Minister of Oil, Mr. Vagit Alekperov, said on 30August that Soviet oil production for 1991 was expected to total around 500mntons (10mn b/d), between 200,000 b/d and 500,000 b/d less than previouslyexpected. In mid-August former Oil Minister Lev Churilov said he expected outputto be 508mn tons. Soviet oil production fell to 570mn tons (11.4mn b/d) in 1990from 607mn tons...
