Egypt and Soviet Union Sign $855mn Trade Protocol

Egypt and the Soviet Union signed a protocol in Cairo on 16 Decemberproviding for two-way trade worth 600mn ($855mn) in 1987, representing a 20%increase over the 1986 trade figure. Egypt will export cotton, cotton yarn,textiles, clothing, nuts, onions, oils, aromatics, cosmetics, furniture andleather products to the Soviet Union, and will import from it machinery,equipment, spare parts, coal, iron,...
