AFESD Lends $89mn to Three Arab States
The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) has agreed on 13October to extend KD25.6mn ($89mn) to three Arab states, as follows: $62.2mn forSyria to finance two irrigation projects ($53.3mn) and the expansion of a powergenerating plant ($8.9mn); $22.3mn to improve transport services in San'a, thecapital of North Yemen; and $4.6mn to improve Tunisia's fishing industry.
